Bloomsbury Sport will publish the first in-depth biography of Tour de France 2025 winning cyclist Tadej Pogačar, written by William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award-winning journalist Andy McGrath.
Publisher Matt Lowing acquired world all-language rights to Tadej Pogačar: Unstoppable from Kevin Pocklington of The North Literary Agency.
According to the publisher, Tadej Pogačar has won “almost everything there is to win in bike racing by the age of 26”. Notably, this week he also became a four-time Tour de France winner.
In Tadej Pogačar: Unstoppable, McGrath unveils “the personal and professional, exploring how this diminutive child from the small, mountainous nation of Slovenia first took up the sport, his emerging talent as a teenager and the role played by his UAE Team Emirates-XRG coaches and management.”
He documents the winning sportsman’s development from his victory in the Tour de l’Avenir in 2018 to his momentous 2025 Tour de France win, as well as speaking to those close to him, including trusted teammates and fierce adversaries, for the inside story. McGrath gets to the very heart of the “cycling phenomenon that is ‘Pogi’ – and the fascinating young man behind the runaway success story.”
McGrath said: “Pogačar has transformed pro cycling, smashed records and rewritten what many thought was possible. I wanted to understand who Tadej really is as a person and a bike rider, and what he possesses which has made him a one-off superstar – physiologically, mentally, emotionally – and convey that to sports and cycling fans.”
Lowing added: “We are delighted to be publishing the first major biography of Tadej Pogačar. Andy has delivered a standout book that captures the power, skill and personality of this truly exceptional rider.”
McGrath is an award-winning sports journalist who has been covering professional cycling since 2009. Former editor of Rouleur magazine and chief reporter at Cycling Weekly, he has also written for the Telegraph, the Guardian and the Financial Times. He is the author of God Is Dead, a biography of Frank Vandenbroucke, and 2017 William Hill Sports Book of the Year-winning Tom Simpson: Bird on the Wire.
Tadej Pogačar: Unstoppable will publish on 6th November 2025.
