Zaffre, the flagship commercial fiction imprint at Bonnier Books UK, has hired Áine Feeney as commissioning editor. Feeney joins from Bloomsbury Archer, Bloomsbury’s SFF imprint, where she was assistant editor. Prior to that, she was at Gollancz where she published Sarah Hawley’s A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon and Tales of a Monstrous Heart by Jennifer Delaney.
Feeney joined the company last week, reporting to Kelly Smith, publishing director of Zaffre. In her new role, she will be acquiring new titles, developing trend-led IP and contributing to the development of Zaffre’s growing SFF list, launched in 2024. Authors on this list already include Mai Corland and Olivia Rose Darling.
Smith said: “I am delighted to welcome Áine to Zaffre at this key moment in Zaffre’s growth plans. She has passion in abundance and a fantastic commercial eye with proven success in the SFF space. I cannot wait for her to start building her list with us!”
Feeney added: “I am so excited to join Kelly as commissioning editor in growing what is already a stellar list. Bonnier is at the forefront of innovation and passion and I looking forward to diving head-first into some truly magical and terrifying stories.”
