Francesca Best has been promoted from senior commissioning editor to editorial director for Transworld.
Best joined Transworld from Hodder & Stoughton in 2015 as senior commissioning editor for women’s fiction. In 2017 she oversaw the publication of My Not So Perfect Life that saw Sophie Kinsella’s highest sales in six years, according to Transworld, reporting sales of over 250,000 copies in print in the UK. Other notable successes included growing author Trisha Ashley with her first frontlist title for Transworld and bringing Lucy Dillon to Transworld from Hodder. Among the new authors she brought over are also bestselling saga debut Emma Hornby, PRH WriteNow mentee Charlene Allcott and French bestseller Raphaëlle Giordano.
In her new role, Best will continue to report to Frankie Gray, publishing director for commercial fiction. Transworld is now hiring a new commissioning editor for women’s fiction to report to Best.
