Mirror Books has bought a follow-up book to Stephen G Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth's Netflix series tie-in Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer.
Senior commissioning editor Ajda Vucicevic acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Authorlink c.e.o. Doris Booth for Ted Bundy: The Only Living Witness. It will be released with a foreword by former FBI profiler Roy Hazelwood on 6th February 2020 in paperback and e-book.
The publisher explained: "Bundy approached Stephen and Hugh with an offer to speak exclusively with them for a book in exchange for a thorough reinvestigation of the many cases against him. He claimed the facts were there to prove his innocence. Instead, Michaud turned the tables on Ted, persuading him to reveal the truth of his murders in a chilling, third-person interview that lasted for six months. They spent over 150 hours interviewing him on Death Row for the book, and produced the most definitive portrait of America’s most notorious criminal, as told by the people who knew him best."
Vucicevic said: "This is one of the best true crime books ever written. It is a chilling portrait of Ted Bundy. Stephen and Hugh through their personal interaction with Ted and his friends and family, draw an unrivalled account of who he really was and one that dispels the myths and lays bare the extent of his depravity. No wonder this book has served many in the FBI as the go-to text on understanding serial killers and is required reading for criminology professors around the world."
Michaud added: "Our UK readers are our most enthusiastic and discerning audience. We are deeply grateful to Mirror Books for the great job they do in helping us reach them."
