DK has appointed Sybella Stephens as executive editor of DK Life, effective from 2nd March 2026.
Stephens joins from Octopus Publishing Group, where she has spent 24 years. Most recently she was senior managing editor, leading a team of eight editors across the UK and India, and overseeing an annual programme of more than 100 titles across 13 imprints.
In her new role, Stephens will report to publishing director Stephanie Jackson. The DK Life editorial team – Abi Reeves, Alaistair Lang, Izzy Holton, Katherine Cowdrey, Lucy Philpott and Lucy Sienkowska – will report to Stephens under the new structure.
Jackson said: "Sybella brings deep editorial expertise and leadership, and I’m delighted to welcome her to DK Life."
DK Life is one of the three divisions that make up DK Living and publishes health and wellbeing, food and drink, personal development, and practical crafts and hobbies, as well as a gardening list that publishes its own titles and also has a long-standing publishing arrangement with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).
Earlier this year, Richard Atkinson joined DK Life as publisher, a newly created role with a focus on developing a new list within DK’s Life division.
