Sarah Ferguson’s new children’s book has been pulled from sale days before publication.
Flora and Fern: Kindness Along the Way was initially due to be published by New Frontier Publishing in October last year before being pushed to last month and then 20th November. NielsenIQ BookScan records now show the £12.99 picture book has been “withdrawn from sale”. New Frontier Publishing declined to comment when contacted by The Bookseller.
Ferguson, 66, recently lost her duchess title when her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, relinquished use of his Duke of York title over his links with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Mountbatten-Windsor has also lost his prince title.
Last month, Waterstones told BBC News that the publication date for the book had changed and that the retailer had not set a new one.
As The Bookseller announced three months ago, publishing director Sophia Whitfield had bought world rights to Flora and Fern from Joe Sisto at Planet Partners. It was due to be illustrated by Denise Hughes. The book had been pitched as a message of "kindness and community at its heart" that follows Flora and Fern as they set out on an adventure, learning about kindness along the way.
