The producer of 'Bookaboo!', the forthcoming CiTV storytelling programme, has issued a last call for submissions of titles. The series, created by Happy Films, will start to air in December and will showcase 13 picture books. Publishers have until 4th August to submit titles for consideration.
Lucy Goodman, director and producer of the series, said: "I have seen some wonderful books but I am still looking for one shorter story that we can repeat during the programme. I want the storyteller to come to the end of the story and for Bookaboo to say, 'Can you read it again?'"
The series will include animation and live action featuring a celebrity reading a book to 'rock puppy' Bookaboo. The books submitted should "fun, interactive and appeal to boys as well as girls," said Goodman. They will also need to be read aloud within seven minutes.
Consultant Alastair Giles is liaising with publishers and retailers to support the programme.
