I B Tauris editorial director Jo Godfrey will join Yale University Press later this month.
Godfrey will take up the newly created role of senior commissioning editor for modern history and current affairs and will be responsible for driving the modern history and current affairs lists when she joins on 27th August. She will report to editorial director Julian Loose.
Starting her career at Oxford University Press in 2006, Godfrey moved to I B Tauris in 2008 where she was responsible for commissioning history, politics and current affairs titles. Her authors included Vernon Bogdanor, Rachel Reeves, Angus Roxburgh and Julia Ebner. Following the acquisition of non-fiction publisher I B Tauris by Bloomsbury last year she became editorial director.
Loose said: "We are thrilled to have Jo joining us, she is such a smart and engaging editor and she really understands Yale's unique position, spanning both trade and academic publishing. It will be exciting to see what she brings us, particularly in current affairs."
Godfrey added: "I’ve always admired Yale’s publishing and especially their intelligent and forward-thinking lists in history and current affairs. I am really delighted to be joining the team and I can’t wait to get started."
