Independent, Black-owned publisher Jacaranda Books has appointed Sareeta Domingo to the newly created position of publishing director, where she will “help lead Jacaranda in the next phase of its mission to publish exceptional books by authors currently underserved by mainstream publishing”.
Domingo, currently editorial director at Trapeze, an imprint of Orion at Hachette UK, has previously worked as commissioning editor at Harlequin Mills & Boon, and senior editor at fiction packager Hothouse Fiction. She will start her new role on 13th May 2025.
Domingo is also an author, with her latest novel Possibility due to be published with Renegade Books (John Murray Press) in April 2025. While at Trapeze, her publishing included Edge of Here by Kelechi Okafor, I’m Actually Amazing by Anoushka Warden, Open Season by Cassie Werber, and the upcoming Chaotic Energy by Stephanie Yeboah.
