Hodder & Stoughton’s digital list, launched in 2024 and headed up by Cara Chimirri, is launching an open submissions inbox for the first time, with Chimirri promoted to deputy publishing director in a newly created role.
The inbox will be open at different windows throughout the year, the first being 1st-7th December 2025, and will welcome submissions from all authors, with no prior publishing experience necessary.
Submissions can be sent directly to opensubmissions@hodder.co.uk, and more information on guidelines can be found here.
Commissioning editor Audrey Linton is leading the open submissions initiative, looking especially for submissions in the crime and thriller, psychological thriller, cosy crime, historical fiction, romance and romcom genres. She is not currently accepting non-fiction, science fiction, YA, children’s books, literary fiction, poetry or short story manuscripts.

Linton said: “We’re so excited to be opening submissions at Hodder & Stoughton for the very first time. We’re committed to finding commercial fiction authors from across the globe. If you’ve got a brilliant, pacy and captivating story then we want to hear from you!”
Chimirri said: “Here at Hodder we are always looking for the next commercial novel that will captivate readers’ imaginations, from swoon-worthy romance, nail-biting thrillers and atmospheric historical stories. Since launching, the digital list has gone from strength to strength and I’m so excited to be expanding my remit. I also can’t wait to see the new voices the team discover through Hodder’s first ever open submissions call!"
