Hodder is publishing a self-help book on grudges by Sophie Hannah with elements of memoir.
Entitled How to Hold a Grudge: From Resentment to Contentment, the Power of Grudges to Transform Your Life, Carolyn Mays bought world rights from Peter Straus at Rogers Coleridge & White.
The book - "my life in grudges," as Hannah describes it - will be the the first anthology of grudges ever to be published, according to Hodder. In the book, Hannah investigates, with contributions from several expert psychotherapists, the psychological power of grudges, and argues that grudges are in fact "essential" for a good life.
It will be published in hardback and e-book in November 2018.
Mays said: "I have spent many delightful hours over the years talking about both self-help books and grudges with Sophie, and I am thrilled that she has now written the book we’ve been discussing for so long. Everyone will find something relevant and useful in this unique guide to grudges."
