HarperFiction has signed bestselling saga writer Dilly Court for another six books in a "major" six-figure deal.
Publisher Kimberley Young acquired world English rights from agent Teresa Chris at Teresa Chris Literary Agency, taking the company's publishing with Court through to 2021.
Court's first three novels for HarperFiction were the top three bestselling saga titles of the year, making her the number one saga author across TCM, according to the publisher. All four of Court’s novels published with HarperFiction to date, including her latest title, The Button Box, have hit the top five on the Sunday Times paperback list, selling over 350,000 print copies alone, the publisher said.
Young said: "I can’t express how happy we are to extend our publishing with the inimitable Dilly Court. We’ve already enjoyed a fantastic two years, with Dilly firmly cementing herself as best in class in the saga market. She truly is a dream author to work with, the quality and depth of Dilly’s storytelling continues to amaze me, and we’re so thrilled to have successfully increased her sales and avid readership. But the ambition doesn’t end here, and this new six-book deal – the publishing which will kick off with two books in 2019 – is a real marker of that."
Court added: "I’m really delighted to have a new contract with HarperCollins, and I look forward to working with my lovely team."
The first book in the new deal will publish in February 2019.
