Little, Brown, publishing director Clare Smith has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in a novel about a bereaved bookseller, The Collected Works of A J Fikry by US author Gabrielle Zevin.
The deal was done through Doug Stewart at Sterling Lord, with Little, Brown winning on best bids.
Virago editorial director Ursula Doyle pre-empted world rights in Never Mind Miss Fox by Olivia Glazebrook from Imogen Pelham at Aitken Alexander, describing the novel as “stunning and unsettling”.
