Ciara Finan has been promoted to agent at Curtis Brown Books, which is headed up by Stephanie Thwaites.
Finan joined Curtis Brown as an intern in 2018 before being appointed assistant to CEO Jonny Geller. She became an associate in 2023. While working across Geller’s list of authors, she has worked closely with writers such as Lisa Jewell, David Nicholls, Bono, Susanna Clarke, Elif Shafak, David Mitchell and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Finan is building a list of commercial fiction and non-fiction, with a focus on adult and YA SFF and Romance fiction, and platform-led non-fiction. Her clients include Hazel McBride, Marvellous Michael Anson, Logan Karlie, Dan Whitlam, Dr Amy Boyington and LM Nathan. She also works on the Discoveries Prize and is a judge for the Caledonia Novel Award.
“Ciara has a great eye for talent and has taken on some terrific new writers, with a particular focus on fantasy and romantasy,” Thwaites said. “We’re delighted to see her flourish at Curtis Brown and are excited for her to continue to build her list as an agent within our formidable team.”

Meanwhile, Atlanta Hatch has been promoted to co-ordinator in the media rights department, led by Camilla Young, head of media rights.
After joining Curtis Brown in the talent department in 2021, Hatch moved to the books department in 2023. She assisted Geller with his list of authors, while creating a new role bridging departments at the Curtis Brown Group by identifying available IP for high-profile clients looking to develop material.
Hatch has now joined Young and her media rights team full-time, and will work closely alongside media rights co-ordinator Theo Roberts, focusing on identifying both internal and external material for scripted development by high-profile clients across Curtis Brown, Markham Froggatt & Irwin and Tavistock Wood.
Young said: “Atlanta is brilliantly placed to work across the whole group, finding material for clients who are looking to have more of producorial role. She works so well with clients and her enthusiasm for the material has made her an invaluable addition to the media rights team, and we are very lucky to have her.”
Geller said: “Ciara and Atlanta are part of an exciting new generation of agents growing up at CB who are ushering in amazing new writers and we are all delighted to see them develop their careers here.”
