Billy Connolly will read the audiobook edition of his first autobiography Windswept and Interesting for Two Roads.
The audiobook will be published by the John Murray Press imprint alongside the hardback and e-book on 14th October 2021. The book deal was first announced in February.
Connolly has been recording the audiobook over the summer from a Florida studio and “brings his unmistakable and instantly recognisable voice to the book,” the publisher said.
Ellie Wheeldon, audio and digital editor at John Murray Press, said: “In narrating Windswept and Interesting Billy brings his stories to life in a way only he could do. It’s been a real transatlantic team effort to record during the pandemic and the result is a truly iconic audiobook. It’s a complete joy to listen to and we hope everyone will love it.”
John Murray Press m.d. Nick Davies said: "For anyone who grew up listening to Billy’s stand-up shows on CD, cassette or vinyl, or anyone who has had the privilege of seeing Billy live on stage, this audiobook is an absolute treat. Windswept & Interesting is funny, moving and life-affirming and Billy reads it beautifully."
Connolly’s collection of his best-known stand-up routines, Tall Tales and Wee Stories, was published by Two Roads in 2019.
The Scottish comedian is also a musician, TV presenter, actor, and artist and holds a Bafta Lifetime Achievement Award.
