Whitaker launches bestseller awards
The Whitaker Gold and Platinum Book Awards are to be launched at an awards ceremony in September. The first industry-wide awards for sales successes.
They will be given for sales of more than one million copies (Platinum) or more than 500,000 copies (Gold) through Whitaker BookTrack's Total Consumer Market. Bestsellers in the qualifying period since 1st January 1998 have included titles by J K Rowling, Frank McCourt and Jamie Oliver.
