The 10th anniversary of the International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) will be celebrated with the ISNI International Agency’s first ever international event this September.
The ISNI is a standard system, featuring a 16-digit code, for uniquely identifying the public identities of contributors to media content such as books, television programmes and newspaper articles. It was developed 10 years ago and the ISNI International Agency has announced a free virtual event to mark this milestone.
Taking place on 1st September between 2pm and 4.30pm, the International Information Day is open to all but aimed in particular at those from the library sector, music industry, publishing industry or rights management.
Speakers include Michelle Durocher, head of metadata management at Harvard Library and Emma Rogoz, identifier development and operations manager at the British Library.
The ISNI International Agency is based in London and was formed in 2010 as part of a collaboration between six major organisations as a vehicle to launch the ISNI standard.
