Nathan Anthony’s Bored of Lunch: The Healthy Air Fryer Book (Ebury) seared into the UK Official Top 50 number one spot for a second week, selling 28,128 copies in its first full week on the shelves. While that was a sharp 75% week-on-week drop after its blockbuster launch week, the second Bored of Lunch book is now the third-bestselling book of 2023, deftly leapfrogging the two- biggest-selling World Book Day titles. There are still more than 100,000 copies between it and its second-placed predecessor The Healthy Slow Cooker Book, but with momentum on its side and the air-fryer cookbook trend only getting hotter, The Healthy Air Fryer Book could have the runner- up spot in its sights soon. On the other hand, Prince Harry’s Spare (Bantam) may be too far out of reach for any new 2023 title—the royal memoir, still putting in regular shifts in the Top 50 despite dropping out of the Hardback Non-fiction chart—is currently on 664,751 copies sold.
The Healthy Air Fryer Book claimed another week atop the Hardback Non-Fiction, with its predecessor notching up second. Clare Andrews’ The Ultimate Air Fryer Cookbook (Michael Joseph) claimed third, as Jenny Tschiesche’s The Air-Fryer Cookbook (Ryland Peters & Small) rose into sixth. With air-fryer sales rising a reported 3,000% in 2022, let’s hope the cookbook market can stay as buoyant.
Dale Vince and John Robb’s Manifesto: The Battle for Green Britain (Ebury) stormed into the Paperback Non-Fiction number one, ending the run of James Clear’s Atomic Habits (Random House Business) at the top. The business guide by Vince, who founded the world’s first green electricity company, sold 4,898 copies last week, swiping the category chart top spot.
