Nathan Anthony’s Bored of Lunch: The Healthy Slow Cooker Book (Ebury) prevailed in the top spot for a third week running and a sixth week in total. With 15,158 copies sold last week, it narrowly held the number one against an onslaught of débuting World Book Day titles, led by Pippa Goodhart and Nick Sharratt’s You Choose Your Adventure (Puffin), which missed out on the top spot by just 517 copies.
While Bored of Lunch and Prince Harry’s Spare (Bantam) once again held the Hardback Non-Fiction top and runner-up spots, Clare Andrews’ The Ultimate Air Fryer Cookbook (Michael Joseph) débuted in third place, becoming one of just two non-WBD new entries in the top 10 (alongside David Baldacci’s The 6.20 Man). Andrews’ ode to the energy-efficient kitchen appliance is the third of its ilk to chart in the non-fiction rankings this year, though of course Anthony’s next Bored of Lunch title, due to be released in March, will no doubt make it four.
Lockdown positivity guru Vex King’s Closer to Love (Bluebird) and comedian Fern Brady’s Strong Female Character (Brazen) also débuted in the Hardback Non-Fiction top five, with TikTokker Hayley Morris’ Me vs Brain: An Overthinker’s Guide to Life (Century) charting ninth.
James Clear’s Atomic Habits (Random House) topped Paperback Non-Fiction at number one, with Todd English’s The Air-Fryer Cookbook (Robinson) jumping into second place. Bruce Jones’ Formula One 2023 (Welbeck) débuted in fifth, charting second in the Small Publishers top 10.
