Viveca Sten’s thriller Hidden in Snow (Amazon Crossing), translated by Marlaine Delargy, soared into the Bookstat e-book number one for the week ending 3rd December. The first book in Sten’s The Åre Murders series, it is the Swedish author’s first title to hit the Bookstat chart.
Julie Shackman’s similarly seasonal title, The Cottage in the Highlands (One More Chapter), joined it in second place.
The digital charts had gone almost as fully festive as the picture book rankings, with Beth Moran’s Let it Snow (Boldwood) climbing to fourth as Sarah Morgan’s Snowed in for Christmas (HQ) and Jenny Colgan’s The Christmas Bookshop (Sphere) jingled into fifth and eighth place respectively.
Scott Mariani’s Graveyard of Empires (HarperNorth) rattled into the Publisher E-Book Ranking number one for the week ending 26th November, joined by Nora Roberts’ The Choice (Little,Brown). This is Mariani’s second number one in the publisher-supplied chart this year, after The Silver Serpent slithered to the top in May.
Adrian Tchaikovsky’s Children of Memory (Tor), the third title in the sci-fi author’s Children of Time series, made its début in fourth place, as Danielle Steel’s The Whittiers (Macmillan) charted seventh and Molly Green’s A Winter Wedding (Avon) hit 10th.
Clarification: Hachette has stated that The Christmas Bookshop has sold 5,598 copies and The Racketeer 3,800.
