Luanne G Smith’s The Raven Spell (47North), the author’s first title in a new gothic fantasy series set in Victorian London, debuted atop the Bookstat e-book top 10 for the week ending 5th February. It’s common in the Bookstat chart to see Amazon-published titles thunder up the chart in the first week of the month—The Raven Spell was joined by its fellow Kindle Unlimited titles Stephen Konkoly’s Deep Sleep (Thomas & Mercer), Samantha Greene Woodruff’s The Lobotomist’s Wife (Lake Union) and Liz Talley’s Deconstructed (Montlake) in the top 10.
Faith Hogan’s The Ladies’ Midnight Swimming Club (Aria) jumped into third place, as Harlan Coben’s Win (Random House) and Sarah Pearse’s The Sanatorium (Transworld) both featured in the chart after a period priced at 99p. Elly Griffiths’ The Locked Room (Quercus) had the key to fifth place, the same week it debuted atop Nielsen BookScan’s Original Fiction chart.
While Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club (Penguin) once again reigned in the Publisher E-Book Ranking number one, Michael Mosley’s Fast 800 Keto (Short) debuted in second place. Though appearances by non-fiction books are rare in the e-book chart, James Clear’s Atomic Habits (Penguin) also bounced back into the top. Christine Feehan’s Savage Road (Little,Brown) was the highest new fiction entry, with the seventh title in the Torpedo Ink series scoring fifth.
Clarification: Hachette has stated that The Locked Room sold 7,847 copies.
