Mitchell Beazley has signed The Home Bird: Creating Joyful Interiors Where Old Meets New by content creator Elle Hervin, who posts about interior design on her Instagram channel @elle_the_home_bird.
Publishing director Alison Starling acquired world rights to all languages from Megan Staunton at Bergstrom Studio for publication in September 2025. Hervin’s local independent bookshop, Forum Books, will be offering signed and dedicated copies.
In The Home Bird, Hervin will invite readers into her home and nine other "beautiful" homes. The book will show "how to transform ordinary corners into extraordinary spaces, marry old and new (while keeping things practical) and discover the positive power of ‘dopamine décor’".
Hervin initially became involved in interior design as a form of therapy after she suffered PTSD following the traumatic birth of her third son. The publisher said Hervin "is an advocate for creating [spaces] which are not only reflective of the homeowner as a person, but which also bring about feelings of joy in every single room".
Starling said: "Elle Hervin’s one million plus followers have been asking her for a book for some time and creating this inspirational yet practical guide with Elle has been a hugely rewarding – and joyful – experience. We all need some of Elle’s ‘dopamine décor’ in our lives and in our homes."
Hervin added: "I wanted to write an interiors book with a difference; it not only guides people on how to create a beautiful home aesthetic in a really accessible way, but takes the reader on a deeply personal journey, where they learn about how to tap into nostalgia, how to harness their own individuality and apply that to their decor, for a home that feels incredibly authentic and joyful."
