Magpie acquires Mila Finch romantasy Runebreaker
Magpie Books has acquired Runebreaker, an epic romantasy debut by Mila Finch, in a six-figure pre-empt.
Commissioning editor Calah Singleton acquired UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) for a three-book series from Kimberley Atkins at WME. North American rights were sold at auction, with translation deals in 13 languages already secured.
The book was originally self-published in January 2026, where it achieved more than 50 million pages read on Kindle Unlimited, before being acquired by Magpie. E-book publication will follow in spring 2026, with hardcover and audio to publish in August 2026.
