John Murray has acquired Finding Grace, the debut novel from Loretta Rothschild.
Executive publisher Jocasta Hamilton acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Jonathan Lloyd at Curtis Brown. John Murray will publish the book in hardback, trade paperback, audio and ebook on 12th June 2025, alongside St Martin’s Press in the US.
“Honor seems to have everything: she adores her bright and beautiful daughter and her charming husband, Tom,” the synopsis says. “Yet Honor’s longing for another baby threatens to eclipse all that’s good – and then a shocking event changes all their lives for ever.”
It adds: “Years later, Tom makes a decision that ripples through their families’ lives in ways he could never have foreseen. As the consequences of earlier choices unfold, two women’s paths become irrevocably intertwined. What happens when your secrets come back to haunt you and when is it too late to tell the truth to someone you love?”
Rothschild said: “Finding Grace is a modern love story between two characters whose worlds have been upended and must find happiness in the face of tragedy.”
Hamilton added: “From the shocking twist of the first chapter to the redemption of the last, Finding Grace had me completely hooked. Loretta writes about thorny issues – including fertility – with sensitivity and intelligence while never forgetting to be entertaining. It brilliantly explores love after grief and the price of secrets.”
