Headline has acquired three new novels by Sunday Times Top Five-bestseller Steve Cavanagh. Editorial director Toby Jones has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Jon Wood at RCW Literary Agency for two more books in the bestselling Eddie Flynn series, as well as a new standalone thriller.
Jones said: “Headline is enormously proud to publish Steve’s masterful thrillers and we’re delighted to have three more on the way. From the audaciously original hooks to the sleek, page-turning polish of his writing, Steve always brings a restless creative flair to his celebrated novels. With a fanatical and ever-growing audience across the globe, we can’t wait to share these brilliant books with new and devoted readers.”
Wood added: “It’s an exciting time for Steve. He is now published in 36 countries worldwide – and is already a big bestseller in the UK, Germany and the US. One of the core reasons for this is the strength of the publishing teams everywhere – but particularly at Headline – and their long-term, strategic approach to his publishing. It’s also a testament to his consistently brilliant books and the deep connection with his fans.”
Cavanagh’s three most recent books were Sunday Times Top Five-bestsellers, with his last seven all featured in the Sunday Times Top Ten. His book The Liar won the CWA Gold Dagger for Crime Novel of the Year and Thirteen won the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year.
Cavanagh said: “I am delighted to be at Headline and working with such a creative and dedicated team who have made a real home for me and Eddie Flynn. There is a wealth of talent at every department in Headline and I’m really looking forward to bringing more of my novels to more readers.”
