Gallery YA won a five-way auction to Our Wicked Gifts, a dark romantasy thriller from Kathryn Foxfield.
Publisher Yasmin Morrissey acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in two titles from Chloe Seager at Madeleine Milburn Ltd, and will publish on S&S’ hitmaking Gallery YA list.
The S&S deal was the first of many rights deals. US rights went in a six-figure deal to Random House Children’s following a six-strong auction, with Italian rights sold in a pre-empt to Mondadori, French rights sold in a pre-empt to Olympe, Spanish rights in an auction to Hidra, and Polish rights in a pre-empt to Jaguar.
Gallery YA will publish Our Wicked Gifts as a paperback original in June 2026 with simultaneous audiobook and e-book issues.
Pitched as "YA Succession with magic", Our Wicked Gifts tells the story of the Winters, a family worth billions. But only they know that their success is built upon a sinister deal with the Devil who granted each Winter a unique supernatural gift in exchange for their soul.
Nineteen-year-old black sheep of the family Cicely’s gift is for seeing secrets. So when her cousin is murdered, her family need her for the first time. When the murders point to Soren, a boy the Winters banished years ago, Cecily must choose between loyalty to her family and her growing feelings for the person trying to destroy them.

Foxfield said: "I’m delighted that Our Wicked Gifts has found the perfect UK home with the incredible team at Simon & Schuster. The enthusiasm Yasmin Morrissey and her colleagues have shown for my book, and its cast of love-to-hate villains, has been a dream come true. At heart, this is a story about working out who you want to be, so I feel very lucky that I get to embark on a new direction in my own career with this book."
Morrissey said: "I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this world since the moment it was first pitched to me as ’YA Succession with magic’. I adore Kathryn’s writing – it is deliciously dark with kiss-or-kill decision-making and sinister secrets. Our Wicked Gifts is a twisted, captivating read."
Seager said: "No one does murder mystery or characters you love to hate quite like Kathryn Foxfield – add in dark magic, and you have an irresistibly page-turning combination. Acerbic and absorbing, readers are not going to be able to put this one down."
