DK has acquired Salads for all Seasons: French-inspired recipes to enjoy by Alexandra Stacey.
Editorial director for DK Living, Cara Armstrong, acquired world rights from Emily Sweet at Aevitas Creative Entertainment, with publication in hardback scheduled for 18th June in the UK and 16th June in the US.
The publisher says: “Growing up just outside Paris with a French father and English mother, Alexandra Stacey became accustomed to a classically French tradition of eating beautifully dressed, seasonal salads on an almost daily basis all year round. After sharing recipes on Instagram and building a community of 157.000 followers, Alexandra now introduces her first book, Salads for All Seasons.”
Salads for All Seasons has 80 “thoughtfully composed” recipes “celebrating the seasons… From a classic Salad Niçoise and the perfect Salade Verte to Fig, Walnut, and Brie Salad, and Celeriac Rémoulade, Salads for All Seasons will enable you to reimagine and elevate humble ingredients to create beautiful and abundant dishes all year round”, the description reads.
Stacey was born in Paris and grew up near Versailles. Growing up half-French, half-British, she attended an international lycée until the age of 18, then moved to the UK to study history at Oxford University. After university she worked in arts PR in London. She returned the comforting and nourishing dishes of her childhood when she had children of her own, which led to the creation of her Instagram channel "frenchfamilyfood".
Stacey said: “Working with the team at DK has been an absolute joy. I am thrilled to be sharing these cheerful, colourful and beautifully photographed recipes with readers in the UK and the US.”
Armstrong added: “No one is better placed to make salads centre stage than Alex. Her Instagram is to die for and every single page of this exquisite book bursts with abundance and a quintessential French culinary cool, we can’t wait for readers to tuck in.”
