Penguin Random House UK has signed Secure, the “long-awaited” new book from Dr Amir Levine, his first in 15 years since coauthoring bestseller Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find – and Keep – Love.
Kate Craigie, senior commissioning editor at Cornerstone Press, acquired the UK and Commonwealth rights, including audio, to Secure from Sabila Khan at Penguin Random House US.
Secure, which will be published simultaneously by Cornerstone Press in the UK and Tarcher in the US on 14 April 2026, is “a revolutionary exploration of how to build secure relationships and a secure life by re-examining both our social and inner worlds from a completely new, surprising and unexpected perspective.” International rights to Secure have been sold in more than 20 countries.
Levine, associate professor of clinical psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center, said: “Secure is the culmination of years of my work in neuroscience and attachment – a labour of love that has transformed my life and the lives of my patients and students, and I’m thrilled to share it with readers everywhere.
“Secure is the missing manual for the brain – a research-backed guide to cultivating resilience and connection in every aspect of life. Whether you’re navigating family tensions, workplace dynamics or your inner critic, Secure shows how neuroscience and attachment research can help anyone grow the kernel of security within them.”
The publisher said: “Filled with case studies, questionnaires and quizzes, Secure offers practical strategies to help readers ultimately build resilient connections – both with themselves and with others to lead more fulfilling lives.”
Craigie said: “I count myself among the many readers whose relationships were forever changed by the groundbreaking ideas in Attached. But I’ve always wanted to know, is it possible to become secure? In Secure, readers will discover that yes, it is possible, and that the benefits of living in ‘secure mode’ are wide-ranging and profound. I’m delighted that Amir has chosen to publish this truly life-changing book with Cornerstone Press and cannot wait for readers’ lives to be enriched by it.”
Since its publication in 2010, Attached has sold more than two million copies worldwide with translations into more than 40 languages.
