Century acquires two 'sweeping' dual timeline novels from Izzy Broom
Century, an imprint of Penguin Random House, has acquired two "sweeping" dual timeline novels set in Greece from Izzy Broom. Senior commissioning editor Susannah Hamilton acquired world all-language rights for The House of Hidden Letters and The House of Broken Promises from Alice Lutyens at Curtis Brown.
The House of Hidden Letters is set on a small Greek island and follows Skye, a young English teacher who, while escaping a toxic divorce, wins one of the six tiny, dilapidated cottages auctioned for one Euro in exchange for renovating the cottage. While renovating the cottage, she discovers the fate of the last owners of the house, who disappeared during the Second World War.
