Jeff Abbott: Fear, panic and success

After only modest sales for his first three books in the UK, American thriller writer Jeff Abbott switched publisher (from Orion to Little, Brown) and scored a notable hit with last year's Panic, which has sold 175,000 copies through Book-Scan and came in at number 58 in The Bookseller's top 100 paperback list for 2006. Now Abbott's on a visit to London to thank the trade for its support and prepare the ground for his follow-up, the equally tersely titled Fear (Sphere, April).
