Greg Iles: It's grim down South

American thriller writer Greg Iles has an almost hidden talent. A former career musician, he now plays lead guitar for the Rock Bottom Remainders, a band that also stars authors Stephen King (on guitar), Scott Turow (backing vocals) and Amy Tan (vocals). The Rock Bottom Remainders play sell-out charity concerts a couple of times a year in aid of children's literacy.
