Protein in 15: Easy, Tasty, Unprocessed Meals for Everyone
Joe Wicks
In October 2015, I did the first interview with Surbiton personal trainer-turned-Instagram star, Joe Wicks, about his first book, Lean in 15. He told me then: “I’m so determined to be the face and the voice of healthy, sustainable nutrition.” Ten years on, and 15 books later, Joe Wicks MBE, aka The Body Coach, has established himself as just that, not to mention becoming the nation’s PE teacher during the Covid-19 pandemic with his daily live-streamed workouts for families. This new book reunites him with his first publisher, Carole Tonkinson, who now heads up Bonnier’s Leap imprint. With chapters including Easy-Peasy Dinners, Lunchbox Inspo and Fast Prep Slow-Cook Bangers, it presents quick and tasty protein-rich and unprocessed recipes for the whole family (Wicks is now himself a father of four), and aims to show that it is possible to eat a protein-rich diet without powders or chemicals. The recipe titles are as bouncy as ever – Thai Me Up Baby, Silly Dilly Salmon Burger, Overnight Oats for the Win – but Wicks is deadly serious in his mission and is particularly keen to steer us away from unhealthily processed foods that claim to be packed with protein. All power to him.
