Tender, melancholic and with flashes of humour, Black Male follows a Senegalese anthropologist living in France as he struggles with loneliness and identity. Torn between cultures and disconnected from both France and the Africa he studies professionally, he drifts through encounters that slowly challenge his emotional isolation. Elgas combines reflections on race and migration with an intimate portrait of a man searching for a sense of self.
