Bent Agency is expanding by hiring Zoë Plant, formerly a senior scout at Daniela Schlingmann Literary Scouting, as a literary agent.
In the new role Plant is looking to acquire children’s and YA fiction and commercial adult fiction, including sci-fi, fantasy and crime.
Plant, who joins the company today (15th January), said: "I have loved my years as a scout and will miss my wonderful colleagues at Daniela Schlingmann Literary Scouting, but I am delighted to be joining the Bent Agency. They are a dynamic agency with a stellar reputation and I can't wait to get started on the challenge of adding new authors to their impressive list of clients."
Director of the Bent Agency UK Molly Ker Hawn added: “We’re delighted that Zoe is joining our London team. She’s long been one of our favourite scouts; she’s energetic and thoughtful and she has terrific taste. I can’t wait to see how her list develops."
The Bent Agency was founded in 2009 and is based in the UK and the US. Its list includes Waterstones Children’s Book Prize winners Robin Stevens and Jessica Townsend, and Costa Book Award winners Hilary McKay and Brian Conaghan.
Plant can be reached at the agency at zoe@thebentagency.com.
