Zavvi.co.uk has began selling books again after the website was bought by online retailer The Hut Group last week.
Branded the Bounce Back Sale, the retailer is offering an extra 10% off stock until Friday 6th March. Among the titles on sale are Slumdog Millionaire (£6.95), Bernhard Schlink's The Reader (£7.99), and Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition (£12.95). Free delivery is available on all stock.
On Friday, Zavvi's administrators Ernst & Young announced that the Zavvi brand, transactional website and "associated infrastructure" had been sold to Gucco Internet Supplies for an undisclosed sum. The business is a Guernsey registered subsidiary of the online entertainment retailer The Hut Group. The website is selling Hut's own stock.
Tom Jack, joint Administrator of Zavvi UK, said: "Following the sale [last week] of 19 stores to HMV and seven stores to Head Entertainment LLP the group ceased to trade. However, we continued to progress interest in other assets of the group and are delighted to have been able to complete the sale of the group¹s intellectual property. This will further increase total realisations for unsecured creditors in some of the zavvi group companies."
