WH Smith customers have voted You’re Next by Gregg Hurwitz as the best read from Richard and Judy’s Spring Book Club titles.
The thriller, published by Sphere, came top of an online poll asking readers to judge which of the chain retailer’s eight current Richard and Judy promotion books they found the most engrossing.
After Hurwitz, readers voted Room by Emma Donoghue (Picador) as the second best read and Hothouse Flower by Lucinda Riley (Penguin) as the third.
You’re Next is Hurwitz’s tenth novel. The American author, who is also a consulting producer on ABC’s science fiction show ‘V’, said: “I am absolutely delighted that so many readers enjoyed and voted for You’re Next.
“Thank you one and all - it's a thrill to know that you connected with my story. I'm especially grateful to have been chosen given how terrific the other Spring Reads are. I'm flattered to be mentioned in such company."
The other books in the spring Richard and Judy selected range for spring were Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson, This Perfect World by Suzanne Bugler, Trespass by Rose Tremain, The Postmistress by Sarah Blake and The Blasphemer by Nigel Farndale.
Richard and Judy’s new selection of titles for their Summer Book Club will be available in WH Smith stores nationwide from next Thursday, 12th May.
