HarperCollins UK has made three new appointments to the UK executive committee: Kimberley Young, publisher, commercial women’s fiction, Oli Malcolm, publishing strategy director and Alex Beecroft, director of corporate development. They will each take up their positions from January 2017.
Young and Malcolm both report to Kate Elton, executive publisher for fiction, non-fiction and Avon. Young has been commercial women’s fiction publisher at HarperFiction since August 2014 while Malcolm was promoted to publishing strategy director in April 2015, and has direct responsibility for Avon and non fiction.
Beecroft reports directly into c.e.o. Charlie Redmayne, overseeing strategy for HarperCollins UK and serves on the recently formed HarperCollins India Board. He was given the newly-created corporate development role in October 2014.
Redmayne, HarperCollins c.e.o., said: "I am delighted that Kim, Oli and Alex will be joining and representing their areas of the business on the HarperCollins UK Executive Committee. They will bring their considerable strengths in publishing and business strategy, as well as new perspectives, to our discussions, and I’m looking forward to having them on the team."
