YMU is expanding its literary division with Anna Dixon joining from WME as a junior literary agent.
Dixon has joined after four years in the WME London team where she worked with a broad range of clients in all areas of fiction, non-fiction and children’s. Her fiction clients included Laura Dave, Kirsten Miller, Evan Winter and Sara Shepard, with non-fiction authors including Heather McGhee and Miguel Barclay. She also worked closely with other departments on crossover business, generating a range of projects including an instant bestseller from LadBaby, and the first book from hit true crime podcast "RedHanded".
She had also begun to build her list at WME, with clients including actress Rosie Day, author of Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon (Wren & Rook), YA fantasy novelist Holly Race and a book from Soma Sara, founder of the "Everyone’s Invited" website.
Amanda Harris, m.d. of YMU Books, said: “Anna’s wealth of publishing knowledge, across all genres, strengthens the promise of our growing agency. She instinctively understands the needs of our high profile and bestselling clients and has the skills to provide a bespoke agenting experience for each author. She is also a highly focused colleague who continues to develop successful and long-lasting partnerships with publishers, a business imperative that lies at the heart of our agency’s work.
"Our mission is to amplify the voices of our clients and sign the most exciting names in entertainment. We have stellar submissions planned for 2022, and Anna will be an integral part of our clients’ continuing Sunday Times bestselling success, and YMU Books’ global growth.”
Dixon said: “I had the opportunity to get my start at one of the world’s biggest talent agencies, where I learned so much from some dynamic and inspiring WME colleagues, and gained invaluable experience in working across all areas of publishing which I am excited to bring to YMU. From my first conversation with Amanda, I knew I absolutely had to work at YMU Books.
"Amanda has built a team of undeniable specialists in their fields, with a broad range of interests and talents and a hunger and passion for creating unique projects, and I’m excited to have the privileged opportunity to work alongside them. The YMU Books story is already one of bestsellers, diverse talent, bringing beloved voices to the page and championing voices that are soon to be instant classics, so I can’t wait to dive in and work with them towards a shared vision of amplifying and supporting talent across the board.”
