Erica Davies, fashion editor turned founder of The Edited blog, is publishing a book with Yellow Kite—Leopard is a Neutral: A Really Useful Style Guide—to help readers harness the power of clothes to feel their best.
The book is described by Hodder as "the practical toolkit we all need to curate a wardrobe of happiness, guided by Erica’s infectious, uplifting approach". Lauren Whelan, editorial director at Yellow Kite and Hodder Lifestyle, bought World English Language rights from Lauren Gardner at Bell Lomax Moreton, and the book will publish on 17th September 2020.
A former fashion editor, Davies headed the team working on the fashion pages at the Sun when she was only 24. Since then she has gone on to establish a popular online presence through her blog, the-edited.com, and Instagram account @erica_davies, where she shares content and advice with nearly 150,000 followers, seeking to empower women through fashion, interiors and style.
Speaking about her forthcoming book, Davies said it was not only about style but about confidence. "This book is about confidence – and the confidence to stand by your decisions," she said. "For me, style isn’t about religiously stalking the catwalks, it comes down to how you feel when you put something on in the morning. It’s about knowing that when you walk into a store or browse online, you know exactly what will suit you, what something will go with and what will make you feel fantastic. What I really hope to create is a guide that gives you the permission to determine how you'd like to be."
