Book Trust's Young Adult Literature Convention (YALC) will now be a permanent feature of London Film & Comic Con and will be run by Showmasters.
YALC is a celebration of young adult books and includes various events such as panel talks and agent events.
Until now, Book Trust has managed and programmed the convention in partnership with Showmasters, which runs the London Film & Comic Con. Book Trust will remain on the YALC working group and be involved as the charity partner, but organisation of the event will now sit with Showmasters.
This year's YALC was headlined by authors such as Judy Blume, Patrick Ness, Cassandra Clare and Darren Shan, and witnessed thousands of fans attending to take part in workshops, seminars, cosplay and book signings.
Book Trust chief executive, Diana Gerald, said: “YALC has been an incredible success, and it’s been wonderful to see so many young adults getting excited about their favourite books and authors. Book Trust is delighted to continue to be part of YALC as charity partner and we will continue on the working group to look at ways of engaging those young adults who need additional support to develop their reading enjoyment.”
Showmasters marketing director, Jill Ubdegrove, said: "London Film & Comic Con has grown to incredible heights in the past few years, and seeing YALC blossom as it has within that environment has been amazing. YALC sends out a positive and strong message, encouraging our younger visitors to get excited about reading and giving them the chance to meet their favourite authors, engage with fellow fans and learn more about publishing and writing. We will strive to continue to encourage all these aspects in the fun and exciting environment that London Film & Comic Con provides. We are extremely proud of what YALC has achieved and have some amazing plans for the future with LFCC."
YALC will take place between 28th-31st July 2016 at Olympia in London.
