UK online bookseller Wordery has launched a "market leading" Express Delivery service.
The service will offer next day delivery to mainland UK for £1.95 per order, with no limit to the number of books purchased.
The move takes on competitors Amazon and The Book Depository for cheap deliveries.
Customers can find an Express Delivery logo on each search or book page or they can upgrade to Express Delivery during checkout. Wordery already offers free worldwide delivery on all other orders.
Will Jones, managing director of Wordery, said of the new offer: "Customers love our free worldwide delivery offer but they have also been asking us for a faster delivery service that is both a great proposition and well-priced in the market. Express delivery delivers both of these. What customers are looking for is a great service at a realistic price - they don’t want to be tied into costly subscriptions and this is an excellent way of providing them with just that.”
He added: "We're pleased to announce that we'll be widening the Express service to international customers very soon. Watch this space for updates."
Wordery launched its director-to-consumer site in September last year after trading as a third-party retailer on sites such as Amazon and eBay since October 2012.
It as a partnership between Jones, who is a former IT Director at The Book Depository, and book wholesaler Bertrams.
