Octopus imprint Mitchell Beazley is to publish a Chinese cookbook by restaurant owner Andrew Wong.
Publishing director Stephanie Jackson acquired world rights all languages to A Wong – The Cookbook from Juliet Pickering at Blake Friedmann.
The book will provide “a fresh take on regional Chinese cooking as well as breaking new ground and reintroducing forgotten Chinese foods to the west”.
Containing more than 100 recipes, the book will include a foreward from Chinese chef Ken Hom.
Jackson said: “It took less than a year for Andrew Wong's restaurant in a quiet street near London's Victoria to become a sensation, with fans ranging from chefs Ken Hom and Marco Pierre White to critics Fay Maschler and Marina O'Loughlin. Chinese food remains one of the world's most popular cuisines, yet there's still so much to be discovered. Andrew's extraordinary dim sum, exceptional street food and unexpected regional dishes will delight and excite anyone who loves Chinese food.”
Wong is the owner of A Wong restaurant in Victoria, London, which has been rated as one of the best Chinese restaurants in the country by the Good Food Guide (Waitrose).
A Wong – The Cookbook will be published by Mitchell Beazley as a £25 hardback on 7th September 2015.
