W&N goes to Jamaica

Weidenfeld & Nicolson fiction publisher Kirsty Dunseath has bought a “magical and haunting novel set in the underbelly of Jamaica” by Kei Miller.

Dunseath acquired UK and Commonwealth rights for Augustown from Alice Williams at David Higham.

Miller has published two novels, and his poetry collection The Cartographer Tries to Map a Way to Zion won the 2014 Forward Prize.

Dunseath said: “Kei’s writing is pure poetry; with every sentence he casts a spell.”
