Weidenfeld & Nicolson has acquired two further novels by Rose of Sebastopol-author Katherine McMahon.
Publishing director Kirsty Dunseath bought world rights excluding US (Europe and far east exclusive) to the as-yet-untitled novels through Mark Lucas at the LAW Agency. They are scheduled for publication in 2013 and 2015.
Dunseath said: "Katherine McMahon is a tremendous storyteller and we are delighted to have commissioned two new novels by her. She writes with such great warmth and sensitivity and her novels always convey a wonderful sense of time and place. She really does go from strength to strength with each new novel."
W&N will publish McMahon's next novel, not part of the deal, Season of Light, a love story set just before the French Revolution, on 10th November 2011.
McMahon has written six novels, including The Alchemist's Daughter and The Crimson Rooms.
