Wildfire has signed a three-book deal with former Royal Air Force technician and graphic designer Zack Scott.
Publishing director Alex Clarke pre-empted UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights from Ed Wilson at Johnson and Alcock.
Scott's first book, to be published in hardback in September 2017, will be Apollo, an infographic exploration of NASA’s Apollo space programme. The programme ran between 1961 and 1972 and realised one of mankind's greatest accomplishments, man walking on the moon.
Apollo will be a visual history of this programme, based on recently released NASA data about the numerous missions. Using infographics, it will take readers through all the most interesting facts and figures, as well as quirky little-known details, for a "meticulous and elegant" history of the missions.
Wildfire’s publishing director Alex Clarke said: "Apollo is a work of pure genius, in both concept and execution. Zack has taken a subject with universal and enduring appeal – space exploration – and presented the information in an aesthetically stunning but accessible way. He is a huge talent and we are incredibly proud and excited to be publishing him at Wildfire."
