WHS to update store layout

<p>Fiona Fraser</p><p>W H Smith is to refit its Croydon and Chester branches next spring as part of a new books strategy already in place at the redesigned Guildford store.</p><p>At least 24 stores will follow the Guildford blueprint in the coming year, with a total of 100 stores to be refitted within three years.</p><p>Muriel Stirling, WHS brand director, said that the first two stores were chosen because they were due a refit and were among the top 10 by size.
