Universal has bought the movie rights to the Where’s Waldo children’s book series from Classic Media. The studio is intending to make a live-action family film, produced by Chris Meledandri's Illumination Entertainment, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Classic Media's Eric Ellenbogen will executive produce.
The books were created in the UK, where they are known as Where's Wally, in the late 1980s by illustrator Martin Handford.
Illumination also has Ricky Gervais’ Flanimals books in development.
