Awesome founder Jeff Norton; Sarah Ellis, digital producer of the Royal Shakespeare Company; and Thomas Leliveld, chief commercial officer of Txtr, are to lead publishers in an afternoon of innovation at the second Futurebook Innovation Workshop in association with The Literary Platform.
Audience, storytelling, risk and innovation are to be the main themes of the session, which culminates in a pecha-kucha, which will see quick-fire presentations of digital literature projects from the likes of Richard Loncraine from Heuristic; Sally Goldsworthy, chief executive of the Discover Children's Story Centre; and Alex Butterworth of Amblr.
Philip Jones, deputy editor of The Bookseller, said: "The Literary Platform has once again curated a workshop that shows where publishers are innovating now, and where they are headed to in the near-future. We'll be combining inspiring visions of what can be done with book product in digital, with the realities of making these projects happen. Publishers looking for 'what comes next' should join us for this half-day workshop."
This year the workshop has adopted a panel format, so the audience can turn the presentations into an interactive workshop. Each session will start with short presentations from the speakers followed by a lively panel debate and extended audience Q&A.
