WH Allen has acquired a book about championing new ideas, with a foreword written by Sheryl Sandberg.
Jamie Joseph, WH Allen senior commissioning editor, bought UK and Commonwealth rights to Originals by Adam Grant from David Miller at Rogers, Coleridge and White.
In Originals Grant shows how to improve the world by championing novel ideas and values that go against the grain, battling conformity and bucking outdated traditions.
Joseph said: “Adam has a unique gift for blending cutting-edge research with engaging popular culture stories and the result is continually fascinating and entertaining. New ideas advance the world and this myth-busting book is a rally cry for originality in all of us.”
Grant said: “Originals is about how to champion new ideas. It covers what happens after the creative spark – gauging whether you’re onto something promising, figuring out how and when to speak up, building a coalition of support, and managing fear and anxiety. And it tackles the steps leaders can take to foster diversity of thought in organisations, and parents and teachers can take to nurture originality in children.”
WH Allen will publish Originals in hardback in February 2016.
