Independent Welsh publisher Firefly Press has acquired the UK and Commonwealth rights to Tulip Taylor, a feminist teen comedy by Anna Mainwaring.
Described as ‘I’m a Celebrity’ meets Pride and Prejudice, the novel is about a girl who is challenged to go on a survival reality TV show. Although she is set up to fail, 15-year-old vlogger Tulip tries to prove she is not just a pretty face.
Firefly publisher Penny Thomas says: “I'm really excited to be publishing teen title Tulip Taylor by Anna Mainwaring this June. Tulip is fifteen and speaks for everyone who likes make-up and also likes to think they have a brain – particularly those generations brought up face to face with social media.”
Thomas struck the deal from the Anne Clark Literary Agency and will publish in June.
